# Crash sites

All 118 crash sites with drop-pod ID, biome, coordinates and what it takes to open them – 23 need power, 67 need items, 28 nothing. Each holds one Hard Drive.


Every crash site contains exactly one [Hard Drive](/wiki/collectibles/hard-drives) in its freighter drop-pod – **118** in total. The pod is opened either with a quantity of an item (consumed), with a temporary power supply in MW (Biomass Burners or an Alien Power Augmenter on site; disconnect the main grid afterwards, the pod keeps drawing power) or with nothing at all. Fixed scattered components lie around every wreck; since 1.1 an emptied site can be dismantled.

**Finding them:** Object Scanner after MAM Quartz – *Radio Signal Scanning*; a Radar Tower shows Hard Drives within 1 km. On this planner's [map](/map) enable *Collectibles → Hard Drive*.

**Coordinates:** X / Y / Z in metres as on the in-game map (X positive = east, Y positive = south, Z = height above the zero level; negative Z = lowlands and coast). Guardians per site are listed in the knowledge base; the most frequent are Alpha Spitters (27 sites), Nuclear Hogs (20), Flying Crab Hatchers (18), Gas Pillars (16), Cliff Hogs (16) and Alpha Hogs (11).
